AITA for keeping my website up after being asked to remove it?

Arrested Unjustly, Should I Take Down My Website?

In a shocking turn of events, a man finds himself wrongly arrested, his life turned upside down, and now faces backlash for sharing his story online.

Back in November 2018, I found myself arrested at work, facing multiple felonies for crimes I didn't commit. Despite proving my alibi, the aftermath left me without a job, facing eviction, and with my son in the state's care due to a troubled family situation.

A victim of poor police work, I turned to the press and eventually created a website to share my experience, gaining attention and a cease and desist letter from authorities.

"Literally the only reason why I was arrested was because an eye witness said they saw me."

Despite demands to take down the site, I stood my ground, refusing to let go of my platform for justice.

"I said I would delete it on the condition that the detective leave his job and never do police work again."

The dilemma now concerns whether I am right to maintain my website and demand accountability.

🏠 The Aftermath

Despite the pressure to remove the site, I have chosen to keep it live and continue advocating for my story.

My son is back with me, but the repercussions of my arrest continue to impact my life and relationships.

The consequences of this battle for justice have been both empowering and isolating, as I navigate the fallout of my choices.

"My life was ruined because of a lazy employee."

This situation has left me torn between vindication and the strain it places on my personal and professional life.

💭 Emotional Reflection

As I continue to fight for justice, I grapple with the emotional toll of standing up against a flawed system and the personal cost of maintaining my stance.

My resolve is tested by conflicting advice from those around me, highlighting the complexities of seeking accountability.

Navigating the aftermath of my arrest has shown me the blurred lines between seeking vindication and the personal impact of my choices.

As the community weighs in, reactions may vary:

"You have every right to share your story and seek justice."
"Consider the long-term effects on your well-being and relationships."
"It's a tough situation, but ultimately your call on what to do with the website."

Mixed reactions reflect the ongoing debate over the value of public advocacy in the face of personal struggles.

🌱 Final Thoughts

In the pursuit of justice, the line between personal vindication and public advocacy is a delicate balance.

As I navigate the aftermath of my arrest, the question remains: When is it right to stand your ground, and when is it wiser to let go?
