AITA for intervening when my date got too drunk?
I (24m) was on a date last night. Things took a turn when my date got extremely intoxicated, leaving me unsure of how to handle the situation.
Last night, on a first date from Hinge, I found myself in a predicament. After a pleasant dinner followed by a drink at a bar, my date became visibly drunk, to the point where I felt concerned for her well-being.
We had just met for the first time, and despite only having a couple of drinks during dinner and a substantial meal, she began slurring her words and acting disoriented. The situation quickly escalated, leaving me unsure of how to handle it.
"I called the number of the last person she was texting and told them what was going on."
As her condition worsened, I felt a sense of responsibility to ensure her safety. Concerned about sending her home alone in an Uber, I took measures to reach out to someone close to her for assistance.
"Would it be wrong to check on her? Would it be wrong to NOT check?"
Ultimately, her friend arrived promptly to take her home, but not without leaving me feeling uncertain about my actions and the aftermath of the situation.
🏠 The Aftermath
Following the incident, my date was safely taken home by a friend, but not without leaving me feeling uneasy about how things transpired.
She was picked up by a friend shortly after, and I was left with lingering concerns about the entire situation.
The consequences of the night left me questioning my actions and the potential implications of my decision to intervene.
"I hope she’s okay but I can picture being out on one of those 'are we dating the same guy' pages where she or her friend accuses me of drugging her."
Despite my good intentions, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease and uncertainty about how things unfolded.
💭 Emotional Reflection

Acknowledging the ambiguity of the scenario, I'm left pondering the fine line between being helpful and potentially overstepping boundaries.
