AITAH for telling my son to punch my nephew

AITA for Allowing My Son to Hit His Younger Cousin?

My son and nephew have a history of aggression, but when my nephew started hitting my son at Thanksgiving, I allowed my son to retaliate.

On Thanksgiving, tensions rose when my son (9) and nephew (7) began to fight. Due to my nephew's aggressive behavior and my brother and SIL's lack of intervention, I allowed my son to defend himself.

My son and nephew's dynamic has always been rough, with my brother and SIL dismissing their son's behavior as a normal part of childhood. Despite our warnings, the situation escalated rapidly that day.
